Dr. Jane Alison Waterfall and Benjamin Noah Ernst were married June 2 at Blue Hill at Stone Barns in Pocantico Hills, N.Y. Scott A. Straus, the bride’s half brother, officiated, having become a Universal Life minister for the occasion.
Dr. Waterfall, 31, received a veterinary medical degree last month from Tufts University; later this month, she is to begin as an associate at Tufts Veterinary Emergency Treatment and Specialties, an emergency veterinary and specialty referral service in Walpole, Mass. She graduated cum laude from Barnard College.
She is the daughter of Susan H. Waterfall of New York and the late Bruce Waterfall. The bride’s father was the president of Morgens, Waterfall, Vintiadis & Company, an investment management firm in New York. Her mother is the director for marketing and investor relations at the firm, and is also the founder of CityTrack, a nonprofit track and field program for school children in Harlem and Washington Heights.
Mr. Ernst, 32, is a law clerk for Rya W. Zobel, a senior judge on the Federal District Court in Boston. The groom graduated magna cum laude from Columbia and received a law degree, also magna cum laude, from Boston College.
